The SEE | EU Cluster of Excellence hosts at the Europa-Institut of Saarland University the Summer School “Protection of Human Rights and EU Law Harmonisation in the Accession Process” from 17-30 July 2016 with the possibility to research.
The Jean-Monnet-Chair for European Law and European Integration at Saarland University is currently organizing an international and interdisciplinary conference on the future of European integration, to be held on 8th and 9th of April 2016 at the European Academy of Otzenhausen (Saarland, Germany) entitled Jean-Monnet-Conference: How Much Differentiation and Flexibility can European Integration Bear?.
In this conference, we’d like to take a closer look on the various forms of differentiated/flexible integration we find in the European Union today and discuss recent issues associated with those.

The Europa-Institut in cooperation with the ASKO EUROPA Stiftung and the Europäische Akademie Otzenhausen presents the European Summer Course “What’s up, Europe?” in Otzenhausen, Germany from 16 until 27 August 2016. The European Summer Course is supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The European Summer Course 2016 addresses students who want to deepen their knowledge of the European Union and European integration together with international students from all over the world. There will be visits to the European institutions in Brussels and Strasbourg.
For the first time, the Europa-Institut will be able to award scholarships for the Summer Course. More information can be found under www.europainstitut.de/esc2016.
The Launch Conference took place in Saarbrücken together with all partners from 11-13 November 2015. The former Member of the European Parliament Doris Pack opened the cluster with her key-note speech about the accession challenges of the countries of South Eastern Europe. A small group of German Ph.D. candidates of the Europa-Institut who research in European and International Law traveled to Belgrade and visited the faculty of law. The candidates had the opportunity to attend lectures of Professor Davinic and Professor Krstic. Both talked about the European Enlargement and Migration Policy. Moreover, the participants got in touch with the Serbian culture and the city of Belgrade.
